So today I went over to AC moore and bought some raw wood boxes (that means unpainted and unstained)

5 hours later, the result:





I think they came out pretty well.

Last time I posted an in-progress picture of a mask I was working on.

I'm pretty pleased with how it came out in the end.

Halloween is just a few months away, so I've been working on masks lately with more than the usual verve. Here's an in-progress shot of the lastest. It's painted to look like copper that's been treated with a blue glaze. (Actually it's a light weight plastic. Actual metal is somewhat unwieldy to use for a mask that will later have feathers attached to it.)



I haven't been doing so much sketching lately, since I've been busy with other projects, but I did put this idea to paper a few nights ago:



It's inspired largely by a book by Robin Hobb.
